Northern Ontario Moose Hunting

The Gogama Wilderness Region, which is south of Timmins, is famous for Moose hunting. There are lots of small lakes, ponds, swamps and clear-cut areas, which is the terrain that Moose love the best. This area is WMU 29.

Our adult Moose tags are usually reserved a year or two ahead of time but cancellations do happen. If you want more information about our adult moose tags, please contact us. Hunters can still purchase a calf tag and get charged for the regular fishing rates. Non-resident who purchase a calf tag have to pay an extra $100 for all the government paperwork.

With the moose hunt, we can tell you where the best places are to hunt and then you go out on your own. You can also hire a guide, which is extra. Moose hunters can reach the good hunting areas by boat or ATV. If you need help with retrieval and field dressing of your moose, we will be more then happy to assist you. We have a moose hanging area and large freezers in case we get an unusually warm day.
